TAFFY

  • 2 Cups Karo Syrup (white)
  • 3 Tablespoons Vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Soda
Dissolve Sugar in Vinegar.
Add Sugar and Butter.
Boil to hardball stage, approximately 255 degrees F, stirring often.
Stir Soda in quickly when done and beat for 1/2 minute.
Pour into a buttered plate.
When cool pull until white.
Flavor with Vanilla just before pulling.
Roll into long 1/2 inch diameter rolls and cut into candy size pieces. Wrap in wax paper for later eating.

You can always buy Taffy at the fair but this is a lot of fun for the whole family.
