How many times have you gotten in trouble because you buttered some toast and left a pile of crumbs behind? Well this simple project will make that problem go away. Here's what you'll need:
Dado a groove on the bottom of the frame to hold the 1/2" piece of plywood. Radius the outside edges for a smoother look. Glue and nail the frame pieces together. ![]() Glue and nail the plywood onto the frame. Cut (8) pieces of 1/2" hardwood 1/2" X 10". Cut (2) pieces of 1/2" hardwood 1/2" X 8 1/4". To make the grill glue and nail the 8 pieces, 3/8" in and separated 1/2", onto the 2 pieces with them 1" in from the ends. ![]() Use an oil finish to highlight the grain. Put the grill into the frame and go butter some toast. To get rid of the crumbs just remove the grill and dump the crumbs in the bird feeder. You can also remove the grill and use it as a small serving tray. ![]() |
