LAYERED CHEESE BARS

With the Holidays upon us it's time to start thinking of great tasting things to take over to your friends house. This cheese bar fits the bill perfectly.

  • 1 8 oz. Package Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Nuts
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Cranberries
  • 4 1/4" to 1/2" thick slices of Cheddar Cheese from a 7" X 3 1/2" block
Beat together the Cream Cheese, Tabasco Sauce and Salt.
Stir in the Nuts and Cranberries.
Cut the Cheddar Cheese Slices in half.
On a 12" X 10" piece of foil place the first piece of Cheddar Cheese in the middle.
Cover this piece of cheese with 3 Tablespoons of the Cream Cheese mix.
Repeat for six more layers ending with a slice of Cheddar Cheese.
Pull the foil tightly up and around the cheese.
Refrigerate from 6 hours to 2 days.
Slice to serve.

OPTIONS: Add Bacon, Red Pepper, Pepperoni or Mild Green Chiles.
