AMERICAN CHOP SUEY

This is an original recipe from Marilyn's grandmother. We had this for Marilyn's birthday and it was great.

  • 2 Veal Steaks cubed and browned
  • 2 Pork Steaks cubed and browned
  • 1 Pkg Chinese Egg Noodles, cooked per package instructions
  • 2 Cups Chopped Onion
  • 2 Cups Chopped Celery
  • 2 Cans Tomato Soup
  • 2 Cans Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Can Mushrooms 8 oz

Saute Onions, Celery and Mushrooms in butter and set aside.
Mix Tomato Soup and Tomato Sauce together and set aside.
Put alternate layers of ingredients into greased baking dish starting with noodles, then meat, vegetables, tomato soup/sauce over and over ending with sauce.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-45 minutes.
Serves 6-8.

Thanks to Betty M., Marilyn's mom, for sharing this great recipe!
